Review Procedure for Manuscript

Editorial Process

Preliminary consideration of the submission (up to 2 weeks)

  • appointment of an editor;
  • checking the manuscript for consistency with the thematic scope of the journal;
  • technical check (volume of the manuscript, volume of the abstract, assessment of the submission in terms of the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the guidelines for authors); 
  • determining the relevance, novelty and originality of the paper;
  • verifying the presence of a pedagogical experiment, its compliance with the research methods which can be repeated (representativeness of the sample, homogeneity of the sample in terms of age, motor fitness, level of sports fitness, training experience, etc.);
  • if the manuscript is a review paper, the use of the PRISMA protocol, which covers systematic reviews and meta-analyses, is checked. Authors are recommended to complete the checklist and the flow diagram and include them in the submission.
  • plagiarism check.

If the manuscript received a favorable assessment, it is sent for review, otherwise it is rejected.

 

Peer Review

Selection and invitation of reviewers, waiting for a response to the request (up to 2 weeks). The typical period of time allowed for reviews is four weeks. 

All articles in this journal undergo peer review. The editor-in-chief of the journal sends the paper for peer review to experts whose scientific speciality is the closest to the topic of the paper. Peer reviewing takes place under a double-blind scheme.

In each paper, the peer review process always considers:

  • ethical aspects;
  • originality of the paper;
  • the importance of information;
  • clarity and comprehensibility of the text;
  • expediency of using the research methods;
  • interpretation of results;
  • validity of conclusions.

Making a decision on publication (up to 2 weeks)

  • discussion of reviews: request for a new version, acceptance or rejection of the submission;
  • if a decision is made to request a corrected version of the manuscript, the author is given 2 weeks to prepare the manuscript;
  • if a decision is made to accept the manuscript, it is sent to the step of preparation for publication.
  • if a decision is made to accept the manuscript, the author will need to pay the journal the Fee for publication of the paper to compensate for the publication costs.

Preparation for publication (4 weeks)

  • literary editing;
  • desktop publishing;
  • familiarization of the authors with the layout;
  • correction of printing and formatting errors;
  • preparation and upload of the electronic version of the journal.
